ADHD Coaching for Teens & Young Adults
Brilliant at midnight, stuck by Tuesday. ADHD coaching is the practical, day-to-day support that turns your teen’s scattered potential into follow-through, working alongside their doctor or therapist, never replacing them.

You’ve Treated the ADHD. Daily Life Is Still Hard.
Many families searching for treatment for ADHD in teens discover the same gap: medication and therapy help, but nobody is teaching the daily skills. That’s the coaching layer.
Focus without follow-through
Medication may help them concentrate, but starting, organizing, and finishing still fall apart without support.
“I know, I know”, then nothing
They can recite exactly what they should do. The bridge from knowing to doing is what’s missing.
Consequences don’t stick
Groundings and lost privileges produce remorse, not change, because the issue is skills, not willpower.
Hyperfocus on everything but school
Six hours deep in a game or project they love; six minutes on homework. Interest-driven attention is real.
Self-esteem is eroding
Years of “you’re not trying” are hardening into “I’m just bad at life.” That story is the most dangerous symptom.
You’ve become the frontal lobe
You track every deadline and manage every morning. It’s exhausting, and it can’t continue into adulthood.
ADHD coaching for teens exists precisely for this gap, the daily-life layer that treatment alone doesn’t reach.
Coaching That Works With the ADHD Brain, Not Against It
Our mentors are trained to coach ADHD the way it actually works, interest-first, relationship-driven, and built on wins:
✓ Motivation through interest
We start from what lights them up, and use that engine to pull school, work, and life skills along behind it.
✓ Systems that fit their brain
Externalized reminders, visual planning, body-doubling, ADHD-friendly structures built with them, not imposed on them.
✓ Accountability that feels like support
A mentor’s check-in lands completely differently than a parent’s reminder. Same goal, zero conflict.
✓ Wins that rebuild identity
Each finished task is evidence against the “bad at life” story. Confidence returns the same way it left: through experience.
✓ Emotional regulation skills
Frustration, rejection sensitivity, overwhelm, practiced in real situations with a calm guide beside them.
✓ Parents get their role back
We coach you too, how to hand off the reminding to us so home stops being a supervision battleground.
What ADHD Coaching Covers
Alongside whatever treatment for ADHD your teen already receives, coaching builds the daily skills:
Why ADHD Families Stick With Us
Mentors, trained and supervised
Every mentor is trained by our founder and clinically overseen by our Clinical Director, Joseph DeNicholas, LCSW. Skilled, vetted, and supported, never winging it.
20+ five-star Google reviews
Colorado families consistently rate us 5.0, because we measure success by real change, not sessions completed.
A proven 7-stage framework
Our mentoring follows a clear arc from first connection to lasting independence, so you always know where things stand and what comes next.
Truly personalized matching
We match on personality, interests, and needs, not availability. The right fit is why our clients actually engage.
Real life, not an office
Sessions happen where life happens, over coffee, on a trail, at the gym, at the kitchen table, so skills stick in the real world.
Fast, local, flexible
Based in Lafayette and serving the Boulder–Denver corridor in person (and virtually anywhere), with first sessions within the week.
Who This Is For, and Who It Isn’t
✓ A great fit if…
- Your teen or young adult (9–35) has ADHD, diagnosed or strongly suspected
- Treatment is in place (or in progress) but daily follow-through is still a struggle
- They’re bright and capable, and losing confidence from constant friction
- You want practical support that coordinates with therapy and school
✗ Not the right fit if…
- You’re seeking medical treatment for ADHD in teens, coaching complements care from your child’s doctor or therapist, it never replaces it
- Your child is in acute crisis, that needs clinical care first
- You want someone to do the work for them, we build capability, not dependence

The People Behind the Work
Mentors Your Child Will Actually Connect With
Many of our mentors have lived experience with ADHD and neurodivergence, they know the midnight brilliance and the Tuesday wall from the inside. That credibility is why teens let them in.
Every mentor is personally trained by our founder, James Farmer, and the whole team works under the clinical oversight of our Clinical Director, Joseph DeNicholas, LCSW, a licensed clinician who consults on every case. Mentoring is not therapy; it’s the practical, relational layer that helps everything else work.
How matching works: we match by personality and interests, and for ADHD clients, energy match matters most. You and your teen approve the mentor before anything starts.

…a few of the real mentors on our Colorado teamWhat Parents and Young People Say
★★★★★
“Having someone to encourage me and walk along side me made a massive difference when talk therapy appointments felt so separated from daily life. A mentor was there to push (and drag) me towards the actions I needed to take.”
Casey G. · Google review
★★★★★
“They’ve been a steady, positive support. They meet them where they are and helped us with emotional support, academics, and practical life skills, especially when we needed it most.”
Dawn M. · Google review
★★★★★
“I often still use things I learned from him today that help me through interviews when needed or with jobs I had or have. I can’t put into words how appreciative I am to his help as a mentor.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Is ADHD coaching a replacement for treatment?
No. Coaching is not medical treatment for ADHD in teens, it’s the practical skills layer that works alongside your child’s doctor, therapist, or school supports. Our Clinical Director, a licensed clinical social worker, provides clinical oversight and coordinates with your providers when helpful.
Does my teen need a formal diagnosis first?
No diagnosis required. If your child struggles with focus, follow-through, and organization, coaching helps, and we’re happy to coordinate with any evaluation process you pursue.
What do sessions actually look like?
Real life, real tasks: building the week’s plan together, tackling an application side by side, a workout, then systems practice. Active, engaging, and matched to how ADHD attention works.
What does it cost?
$125 per hour with monthly packages at a reduced rate. Most ADHD clients meet 1–2× weekly plus brief check-ins between sessions.
How fast can we start?
Typically within a week of your call, often sooner, helpful when a semester is slipping and every week counts.
