12 Essential Aspects Assessment
Self-reflection tool
A clear look at the 12 areas of your life
The 12 Essential Aspects assessment asks three questions about each area of your life: how satisfied you are, how much of your time and energy it gets, and how much it matters to you right now. Your answers show where things are working, where your effort isn’t paying off yet, and where to start.
It’s for anyone, at any age. There’s a simpler version for 17 and younger, and a parent version where you answer about your young person’s life as you see it. If you both take it, a code lets you compare notes side by side.
- Free, and takes about 7 minutes

Questions about the assessment
No. It is a self-reflection tool. It shows how the 12 areas of your life look to you right now, based only on your own answers. It does not diagnose anything, and there are no right or wrong answers.
Only you and the Noble Mentors team. Your answers are saved so we can send your report and so a retake can show what has changed. They are never sold or shared, and we delete them on request: email contact@noblementors.com.
If you are 18 or older, take the full version. If you are 17 or younger, take the version with shorter answer choices: the same 12 areas, plainer wording and a five-point scale. If you are under 13, use a parent’s email address for the report. Parents answering about their young person choose “I’m a parent”.
Yes, two ways. Choose 18 or older to take it about your own life. Choose “I’m a parent” to answer about your young person’s life as you see it: how each area is going, where their time goes, and what you think matters most to them, next to what matters most to you for them. If your young person takes it too, one of you enters the other’s code at the end and the parent gets a side-by-side report showing where you agree and where you see things differently.
Every report comes with a six-character code. A young person can give theirs to a parent, or a parent can give theirs to their young person. Whoever enters the other’s code gets a side-by-side report, emailed to the parent. Nothing is shared unless someone chooses to hand over their code, so a young person decides for themselves whether a parent sees their answers.
About 7 minutes. The written reflections at the end are optional.
Each area gets one pattern based on three things: how satisfied you are, how much time and energy it gets, and whether you picked it as one of the 4 areas that matter most or least to you. “Start here” shows the areas that matter to you and are not going well; if none are, “Room to grow” shows where there is the most room to improve. “Watch the cost” appears when one area, or screen time, is taking a lot of your time while areas you care about get very little. For each place to start you also say how ready you are to work on it and how confident you are, and the report adjusts what it suggests.
That is up to you. If you ask a mentor to reach out, we will contact you to set up a free call. You can also book a discovery call any time, or keep the report and take the assessment again in a few months.
If you are thinking about hurting yourself or feel unsafe, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) any time, or call 911 in an emergency. You can also call or text us at 720-730-2424.
