I want to make sure everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. We all need someone in our corner, and I wonder how different my life would have turned out if I’d had that from the start. I’ve always loved helping people, working with kids, and figuring things out, so psychology and education seemed like the obvious areas to pursue. I am happiest when I am connecting with people, listening to or playing music, being active, or enjoying nature.

I spent 10 years in community college, where I struggled with identity, the effects of my childhood trauma, substance use, and what remained of an eating disorder. I was fortunate to find my own mentor in my professor when I was 23, and we’ve remained in contact since then (over a decade!). After meeting her, my grades improved dramatically, as did my confidence. But the most impactful things she did for me were to care about me and believe in me. Her belief in me laid the foundation for my belief in myself, and I want to be able to help others like she helped me.

My approach is collaborative, person-centered, playful, and flexible. I’ll meet you where you’re at. I live and work with Carl Rogers’ three core conditions for therapeutic change in mind: genuineness, empathic understanding, and unconditional positive regard. You are the expert on you, and you get to decide what kind of support you’re looking for from me. This can vary from one day to the next, as our needs don’t always remain the same. If one week you just need to vent about your history teacher, and the next week you need support with a peer situation, and the next week you just want to go for a hike without talking at all, we can do all those things. It is a privilege to be let into another person’s world, and I’d be honored to get to show up for you and support you in living a life that works for you, whatever that looks like.
